Prepare for Winter Propane Deliveries

Residential & Commercial Bulk Propane Delivery

Winter propane deliveries can be challenging due to snow and inclement weather. But, there are things you can do to help WIN Propane make safe propane deliveries. While prepping your home, or business for winter, please consider the following:

Check your tank’s propane levels regularly. During the winter it’s important to monitor your tank levels. Since snow or treacherous delivery conditions could happen in a blink of an eye, you should know how much propane remains in your propane tank. Call for a delivery when your tank reads 25-30 percent capacity. This allows us time to plan your delivery without the threat of an out-of-gas situation. If you haven’t already taken advantage of our wireless tank monitor program, you may want to consider enrolling. You can check the level of your tank anytime, anywhere with the monitor’s convenient, remote capabilities.

Clear snow away from your propane tank. To prevent damage to your tank and any of its components, be sure to clear snow and ice from your propane tank, lines, and valves. If possible, use a broom or brush to push snow to the side. Since a shovel can cause damage to your tank, lines, and valves, use extreme caution if something more substantial than a broom is used to clear away snow from around your tank.

Mark the location of your tank. Mark your propane tank with a flag, stake, or pole to avoid damage while clearing snow with shovels or other machinery. Marking your tank also helps your delivery driver safely find and reach a tank that has become obscured from view due to deep snowfall or drifts.

Clear a path to your tank. It’s very important to have a pathway to your propane tank…especially if you have a long and/or curved driveway. Clearing way assists with a safe and successful delivery…not to mention it helps keep our delivery trucks on the drive and out of your yard!

We thank you in advance for helping us deliver fuel to your home or business safely. If you’d like more information about how to clear snow from your tank and propane system or information about our new wireless tank monitor program, contact our office. To find out more about the tank monitor program, please read more about them in our website’s residential products and services section you can also contact our office.
